Short Course cars killed 1/10 gas and electric truck. 1/10 gas truck was dead before that but 1/10 electric went down after SC trucks started becoming available. In order for the gas truck class to come back it will need:
New releases by some of the top manufacturers-Losi and Associated mostly, then a few more brands. Redesigned cars, not adding a longer chassis and calling it good. Thats a lot of R&D money.
Tracks becoming more 1/10 friendly. Nobody wants to roll every big jump 8th scale tracks have, and that will drive people away. Also tracks becoming more hardpack/higher traction. Nobody wants to either buy new tires every raceday, or spin out every corner because the track is loose.
The cars becoming more durable. The NT and the GT2 are nowhere near as durable as the 8th scale cars for the average person.

That being said, I think if more top manufacturers start coming out with a 4wd 1/10 nitro car like the Ten-T, there will be a class for it. If more top manufacturers start coming out with 4wd SC nitro cars like the Hyper 10SC nitro and the Jammin SCRT10 nitro, there will be a class for it. I Highly double 1/10 gas truck will ever come back, heck, Losi discontinued all their cars because nobody was racing/buying them.

in my own little way i kind of miss 1/10 gas truck. I wish we could get 2-3 people at the track to get one than id get one. I really like my xxxnt ad2. It was a really solid truck .Not quiet the power of the 1/8th scale but they are way cheaper and i like them better than the 1/10th truck but thats probably what im gonna end up getting soon.

i am starting to get our local racers back into gas truck here in az. i got an ad2 that i love, should have a gt2ft here today. most people still have them on a shelf, just need to get back out and use them. mine sat for 5 years. put in a new RX battery and fuel, fired right up and ran great, love the os motors. if we can get 5 or 6 a week out, i would be happy. there fast, fun, cheap and cool as hell. maybe the new guys that race SC would be into them once they see them run???

I love my mugen MST-1 can hit big jumps and soak em up with the big shocks. Got an oz. in front for balance. Easier to rev up to raise the front "no front brakes'' to drop the front as fast. There is still parts out there and seen like new RTR cars go 80-120. Some lil parts cross over from losi a AE diff plates better just open center like .001''. Thinking of trying an elect conv with spare car.

yea but depending on the enigne or brushless system that might be a little unfair in some cases

Get out of here with that junk. Maybe the fastest. The gt2 and the ad2 would eat up a jato on a track. That is like comparing the duratrax evader to a losi xxxt cr.
