Default engine flame out

what makes a engine flame out during every pit stop? i ran a 45 min. main yesterday and during every pit stop the engine flamed and only took 100cc of fuel at 7.5 mins. with a new novarossi p5xlt. It did fire right back up and was on my way ... just a little longer pit stop lol i ran it last week at the jconcepts race and it was spot on and had no issues with the pit stops. thanks for any suggestions

check your fuel tank. I had that issue a while back and a new tank fixed it. also a tiny piece of crud or dirt could have gotten into the fuel line inlet of the carb, that can cause a pressure issue, and cause your fuel to slink out of the fuel line when you open the tank. that's all I've got for ya travis.

Check these things,

Idle mixture is too rich causing the engine too load up at idle and die.

Idle speed is too low, as your engine heats up your idle speed will drop unless it starts overheating which could raise the speed.

Engine is overheating causing a shutdown. (if the idle mixture is too rich it could mask the problem because the tell tale racing idle won't be there as well as giving you a false sense of having the high speed needle set correctly).

Clutch dragging.

Clutch bearings are going bad.

Turn your idle up. You tend to drive different during a 45 min main as you are not driving as hard durung a 7 min qual.

clutch was fine ans so was the idle the only thing i changed from the week before was i leaned up the bottomend about three hours so i was thinking it might of been leaning out due to opening the tank and loosing pressure..idk for sure so thanks for all the suggestions tho

I had this same problem yesterday. I leaned the low and went up on the idle.

I think your bottom end is too lean. When the lid goes up you lose the tank pressure and the engine stalls because its not getting enough fuel....you even said the only difference was you leaned the bottom 3 hours.
