Yeah as stated above, you will probably have better success with 2 carbon shoes with either black or green springs (I run green), and 2 aluminum shoes with either green or gold (I run gold). I prefer a little more bottom end punch so I run the slightly stiffer spring setup. I don't think I could handle all the bottom end power from using all aluminum shoes in a buggy. I even run 2 carbon and 2 aluminum in my truggy with the same spring setup as my buggy with 2 green and 2 gold. If you say you are lacking the bottom end punch you might want to try the same setup. just a little trial and error and you will be good to go.

I'm not a great racer but I tried a few different set ups and the one that I liked the most were 2 composites 2 LL aluminums with all gold springs

I had a spring break once and it had the same symptoms you stated in the beginning of this thread, causing that shoe to engage at idle

Im running stock setup now, but last year when I ran Losi my favorite for buggy and truggy was all Dynamite maxx life shoes with green and gold springs on steel flywheel.

Buy some AnswerRC clutch shoes, they come with 3 spring rates and you can mix and match.

I'll never buy LL Dynamite shoes again.
