Default 8ight t 2.0 rtr shock top caps and bottom caps

Is there any point in me upgrading to aluminum shock caps top and bottom?

I have noticed that the eyelits on the stock plastic top caps stretch alittle creating alittle "play".

What about the bottom caps. Do they wear?

Thanks.

The plastic ones could strip and you might lose a cap in the middle of a race.

Agreed! Get rid of the garbage plastic caps and get some real caps. I would go ahead and do the bottom too.

plastic caps are fine, they pop off if they have already been crossthreaded. an ally can rip in the same crash (never had 1 of those wrecks) and then you body's threads are a victim as well. pick ur poison and drive well.

just make sure no crossthreads or lose fitments on ur shock ends.

have fun

Not only can the plastic caps strip easily, the eyelets also oblong almost instantaneously, and they don't bleed the same, and they don't seal as well, and they don't tighten as well, and they cross thread super easy. They're just bad. Spend a couple bucks and get the aluminum ones. I guarantee you will be happy you did.

Yeah, the mod is to drill a small hole in the top of the cap to vent air behind the bladder. Then you use a small piece of dense foam to fill the void behind the bladder. Supposedly makes the shocks more consistent and easier to bleed. I have mixed feelings about it myself.
