2wd is fun to just mess around with imo, but the rustler is not a "buggy" it is a stadium truck, i bought and OLD 2.5 rustler roller, and put a spare TRX 3.3 in it for my girlfriend and she loves it and it has TONS of power.

Spend the extra $100 you wanted to spend on an engine. But everybody who sucks at tuning blames the engine. I fixed a guys RTR the other week that had a traxxas glow plug in a .28 and was leaned to the max with the idle screwed all the way in. After I got done with it it looked like a real race engine. Or go with this it's in the range.

The ofna picco offroad buggy is a nice one for 350 on Amainhobbies. I cant post the link but its easy to find. I am competitive with it at club races and its tough as nails except for the steering servo which needs to be replaced as soon as possible.

I have seen that most that start with this rig stay with racing for alot longer than others. It's a tank, can put up with banging the pipes, and motor is easy to take care of. We all know it's not the best but realy not bad to start with and get some skills on. But i'm sure the fan boys are going to scream me down on it.

stretch out your bidget and get a car that has some local parts support and that is a good car. Save an extra 100 dollars and get that. Its better than any of the other cars mentioned and it has way better parts support
