How to identify clutch springs.
I purchased a clutch lot from a member on here but the clutch springs are all mixed together.
Anybody know which ones are stiffer/softer? some of them seems longer on one end than others They are associated springs for the rc8 http://www.aww-kittah-aww.com/up/fil...0/IMG_5453.jpg |
Just take a calliper and measure them, if they're for the RC8, I'm guessing they'll range in the 0.9mm - 1.1mm range. The thinner, the weaker.

Measuring them is the only way to really know.. Anything else is at best a guess, and setting up a clutch needs more than guessing to get it right, or be able to copy it each time. If you don't have a 6" caliper for set up you need one.. You can get some cheap one online real cheap..

I guess I have to go buy a caliper.
How would one measure it? at the base of the coil? |
i believe the thickness of the coil.. so the ends of the spring, not the size of the loop.
just like GA wire, 18ga, 16ga.. ect. its the size diameter of material, not how its twisted or built. |
color, their 1.1's. silver for 1.0 and gold for .9.
