Default n21b09/rt HELP, please look

I have a brand new n21b09 engine which is a rotostart. I can't seem to install it without having to remove the rotostart backplate because it hits the rear chassis brace. Now my question is if i decide to go bump-start, can i just leave the rotostart plate off with the OWB exposed or do i need to purchase a backplate cover? The OWB looks like a hex nut.

thanks

just go bump start, its way better anyway. If you are going to use the roto start you need high engine mounts.

If i go bump start, do i need to find a cover for the exposed OWB or do i just leave the back exposed?

thanks

Yes, you will need to contract Nova and ask for the backplate for a N21 engine, I have searched and could not find one....

if going bump start proves a problem for whatever reason these would allow you to install it so the backplate clears the chassis.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=370314080160

place them between the engine mounting tabs and the engine mounts.

Edit: i should read these a little better before replying. i dont know if it would help with the spacing problem to the chassis brace. changing gearing to a larger spur and cb while maintaining the same ratio (spur teeth divided by cb teeth) to space the engine further out might help it a bit.

Default thanks bud!

Hey thanks for the reply looper. I think i'm just going to change to a different engine. It's just too much of a hassle to try to make this work. Just ordered a B5 .
