without letting the cat out of the bag too much, the modifications to the engine involve timing changes to both sleeve and crank, reshaping of the exhaust and transfer ports, lightening the piston and increasing compression....Believe it or not but by a casual visual inspection my modified B5's internals look stock unless you know what your looking for.....

So modding a B5 either cost $100.00 or you are paying full price on the motors you get right?

Of course I don't pay $200.00 ...however it's not that far off because of the cost of importing them into Canada.... On its own the mod done to this B5 would cost $130.00 .... Of course I could do a more conservative mod for a lesser price....However the modification dynoed is an aggressive modification, it takes a fair bit of shop time to complete and of course the cost reflects that , cutting transfers, boost, exhaust as well as re-timing the crank and lightening the piston etc...

I am unsure to be honest... In my testing the engine seemed to be very good on fuel...extremely good actually, especially for the power it makes... However my modified B5 has not been formally run in any races so we still do not know its actual track runtime... The engine is extremely powerful and triggers pretty smoothly, it feels awesome on the track in my 6T, I was grinning ear to ear when I was running it, I remember monitoring the fuel as I was driving and the engine was lasting forever on a tank, which really surprised me actually as I definitely didn't modify this engine for mileage ... Unfortunately this is all I can tell you at this time.... hopefully soon we get some feedback and some true concrete numbers on potential mileage..... I can promise the engine makes tons of power, but i can make no promises on mileage sorry to say....

Thumbs up

hey don't forget about me eh!

Just because I'm at the beach in Florida with my laptop doesn't mean I don't need to burn some nitro when I get back on Sunday.....

:P I'm going to run my JL in my buggy and my Frankenstien JPX 21 in my truggy for now anyway...

Can't wait to see the dyno results in person though, very impressive work Neal, once again!

Its all custom made here by a buddy of mine....it however uses a Datamite hardware/software package...It was a fair sized project to get it all working and dialed in, quite a bit of custom machining involved, especially in the flywheel....
