effects of changing rebound
 

i am slightly confused bout this rebound lark i currently have it with 100% rebound but what effect would i have if i put less rebound? help!

It's probably better characterized as limiting the down travel, at least if I'm reading your question properly. Limiting the down travel of the suspension is a useful tool, but like any other tuning option, it can have positive effects in some situations and negative effects in others. I like to generalize suspension set-up in the following manner - for low-traction conditions, you want to set up the suspension so it's more soft, compliant, and with more travel and higher roll rates; for high-traction conditions you set-up the suspension more stiffly, rigid and with less suspension travel and less roll. If you're wanting more specific information, give us some more detail about the conditions you're facing and the way your car is reacting, good and bad, and then we'll have the info we need to get into the finer details.

well my local track is very bumpy, covered in stones. it is very dusty covering a hard packed track. my car does not seem to like the straight at my track where because it is very bumpy and my cars suspension does not seem to absorb the little bumps. would reducing my rebound to 50%, maybe even 25% would this help?

I always run zero rebound in my shocks, and it handles the rough great, and at high speed, it seems to keep my chassis stable ( instead of bouncy-looking ), and I'm still able to clear any jump with ease.
