Default Upgrading mp 7.5 kyosho

I bought this car off of amainhobbies a couple weeks ago and I'm fed up with this engine.

amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_44_48/products_id/149504/n/Kyosho-Inferno-US-Sports-4-Type-1-Ready-Set-Buggy-MP-75

I'm looking to get the N21R-bf and a jp-3 pipe but I am having trouble figuring out what else I'll need. I read that I will need motor mounts and possibly a new clutch and spur gear. is anyone familiar enough with this car or know what I'll need? I don't want to blow a ton of money at once, but this gx21 is horrible. what do I need right away and what should I plan on buying asap?

thanks in advance

Where did you hear you would need a motor mount? Assuming you have the mount the kit came with you can use that. As far as clutch, does it have the old 2 shoe clutch or something more advanced like a 3 or 4 shoe clutch. Either way the clutch you have will work though if you have the 2 shoe i would upgrade but it is not required. You really shouldnt need anything but the engine and the pipe you want to use.

What exactly is wrong with the gx? I dont know much bout them but I am sure someone here can help you get the most out of it.

done the same thing years ago, the standard engine is bolted on the chassis with the crankcase, so you need new mounts:

this: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...d-Engine-Mount

scews to secure them: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...Head-Screws-10

new clutch setup: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...lutch-Kit-34mm

clutchbearings: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ch-bearings-10

shims: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...lutch-Shim-Kit

and possible a new bell: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...Replaces-IFW47

Thanks for all of the help, it's my first time upgrading a motor and it was pretty annoying trying to find info on it.

Do i need both of those motor mounts that you mentioned Matthijs?

@barry - the GX21 is constantly either overheating or stalling, I can get it to run consistent but at that point it's way to rich and just a dog. I've read in a bunch of different forums about the problems with it holding a tune, so I'm jsut going to upgrade it i think.
