Default which motor for Losi 8 buggy?

What is a good motor for a Losi 8ight buggy? Looking for a price range under $150. I mostly club race and back yard bash. The track I mostly go to is about med size, so not really a whole lot of wide open running, alot of jumps though.

nova n21bf is the best bang for your buck in that price range

oops, I did forget to mention that I am still kinda new to this. Would that motor be easy to tune?

I have been running my losi now with the Mach 427 engine, and learning alot on tuning. But I still want something easy to tune

+ 1 on the nova bf although for a, beginner them italian engines can be kind of a pain because the piston is tight ! so you need a heat gun and proberty need to lean the needles about, a half of a turn to get it to say running !

i wont say there hard to tune, but they dont like big turns just little turns.

nova BF21 is easy to tune and holds a tune, but they temp at 240-250 unless you put an odonnell cooling head on it. also run a Odonnell 99 plug and it will be even easier to tune and run alot better.

its not a hard motor to tune we use the 9901 and the 21 header with the odonnel purple sport plug with cold fusion 30% magic fuel and its a dream to tune stays tuned all day and run a 20 minute main coming in at a consistent 220 just follow the break in bible and take your time novas do tune a little different but nothing to hard for anyone to do with a little patience the link you posted is right and yes your starter box will be fine

A buddy of mine was running the newer Dynamite .21 in his 8ight 2.0, it goes great! For $120 to $130 it's tough to beat.

dynamite are good engines and all but i have seen way to many not make it past the 4 gal mark. i had a friend that bought 4 of them one made it 9 gallons and the other 3 didnt make it past 4 gallons one only lasted 2 1/2 gallons. but who knows about the newer one, heard they have better metal now but i dont know if that true or not.

Get the Novarossi N21BF and a Dynamite 086 Pipe/Header. Great combo for under $200.
