Engine Killing Glow Plugs

Engine Killing Glow Plugs
Hello all,
As long as the glow plug has the ignitor on it, then the engine runs great. Almost immediately when I take it off, the engine stalls.
I replaced the glow plug and it ran great for a minute or two. Then it started running only when the ignitor is on the glow plug. Do I have something inside the engine damaging the glow plug or is it something else?
Do I rinse the engine out with gas or do I try something else?
Thanks.

prob lsn is very rich, lean it a bit or you can try a hotter plug if it does not help.
also a bad rod/worn crankpin or rear bearing are known to kill glowplugs.

What does the glow plug filament look like? Is it shiny, dull grey, or does it look corroded with dark spots? While it could very well be too rich at the bottom, it could also be that your engine is set too lean and burning your plugs. The situation you describe about being able to keep the engine running is something I've seen quite a few times with burnt-out/corroded plugs.

re
how about starting with what engine it is what fuel and glow plugs are you using and how much runtime on the motor?but it does sound like the rod bushing or main bearing going bad

I would go back to factory settings on the needles and start from there.
How does it run for the time that it does run ?
