I'll have to admit that HB did "borrow" some losi ideas. No coincidence that Travis Amezqua was involved. But I won't hold it against them because everyone "borrows" losi ideas now a days. Don't hate me. I just speak the truth. BTW I like the HB cars.

Losi is more like a Seiko... dependable and durable, but hardly a "luxury" good. Cheap plastic. Takes a licking, but keeps on ticking.

Mugen and Xray would be more Rolex like...

I have two buddies that I race with that have/had RTR's. One bought the buggy and truggy, the other bought the truggy. They started this season with them, have raced and done very well with them. As of now, one replaced a truggy with a Race roller and is looking to replace the buggy with a RR. The other guy with the truggy is looking to replace it with a RR. I am not saying they have to, but they want to. With a little bit of maintenance they would be tip top but I think it's that jonsing thing that gets them. They know there is something a little better out there. It gets me too! FYI, these guys drive a lot, several nights a week down at the track until the sun goes down. They put miles on there rigs.

I don't know too much about Hot Bodies. There always seems to be a few guys running them at the track but I have never driven one and for some reason reliability is sketchy to me. Given I have not researched it, I remember hearing about drive shafts breaking. If I was going to buy one I would thoroughly uncover that story.

The fact of the matter is, if you want to play you gotta pay. Even if you find the best deal out there you're still going to be spending money to keep that thing on the track in good shape. Tires alone cost a lot! Good luck.

That is exactly my point. in time you will grow out of that rtr chassis and in the end you will end up spending an extra 400+ dollars depending on the car tyou choose to upgrade to. If you spend the extra money on the d8t now you will have a better car for the long run. Also that problem with the drive shafts breaking is long fixed. It still happens but not often if you keep up on your maintence and if they do break you can get the bec or bce? upgraded version and those dont break.

Xray is more like Fiat hard to get parts in the U.S.

I'm not insulting HB in any way. I hope you didn't take my posts that way. I'm actually serious about liking the HB cars.

Yea gonna be nice to get a full day of practice in. What tires are hooking up ??? I bought two sets of m3 inside jobs and a set of m3 recoils to try. I have a losi that looks like this

FWIW OP my bud got rtr losi truggy and it hasn't skipped a beat. Parts support for a losi is incredible and prolly the best team in the business !!!

AKA Cityclocks and I-BEAMS on occasion. Proline Calibers, Revolvers and Holeshots. Inside jobs work when the track is wet.

Flagship 8T 2.0(sort of has to do with the topic)
