Default novarossi vs stock which?

ok we bought a rc10gt with a novarossi CX12R2/N .12 Side Exhaust 3 Port Rotory Carb and i also bought a rc10gt2 with the ae .15 (the stock motor) i want to run the faster of the two and give the other truck to my dad bud have no idea which is faster do any of u guys know and can tell me so that way when the trucks get here i already know which one to keep lol thanks

I would think the nova would be faster, but rotory carb???

The Novarossi will be much faster. Gear it about 16/63 if you're in a big dirt/open area; but don't gear it that long in the grass or other high-load conditions.

The CX12 was basically the beginning of the Nova .12's; side exhaust, slide or rotary carb available. A lot of guys raced with rotary's on the GT's because (A) they thought it was smoother/easier to control than the slide and (B) it was an easy, direct bolt on without flipping the servo around and changing the linkage setup.

I ran the CX and the later MTX12's with slide carbs; I think they all had a head temp around 200-215F and ran spectacular.

what do u mean by the gearing in the open i plan on running it mainly in a grass setting so what kind of gearing should it be then

If you're going to be in grass; gear it 15/66 (this is for the "old" RC10GT). For the GT2 run like a 19/56.

By "open" I meant on a low-resistance hardpack surface; like a track or baseball diamond/pavement/etc.
