Building a Truggy

Building a Truggy
I know there's gotta be a few people out there who need some of these questions answered. I am building a HB D8T and need some MORE recommendations to complete it.
What engine/pipe combo?
I've heard great things about the Werks B5 and the 2013 pipe. Anything else thats cheaper, or is that the best bang for the buck out there? I'm new to 1/8 nitro, I had a few 1/10 scales previously and a t-maxx so I kinda know my way around.
What servos?
I want a hitec 7955 but do i really need one of those for the trottle too? And if anybody knows of any cheap servos from hobbyking, I'm all about saving money!
Common parts that are going to break! I'd like to stock up on a few throughout the next few weeks so if anything breaks, I dont have to wait for the mail to come
I'm new to starter box's. Any tips at all because I dont want to burn up an engine. Is there a thread on how to set up a starter box?
By the way, I got this starter box, where can I find extra belts for it?

i would get the hitec 7954 sh diginal servo coreless ,yea it has steel gears big
deal thats why you have, a steering saver to prevent striping . for a throttle servo get a diginal servo that has at least 128 oz of torque .
i dont know about the hbt but i whould, say extra a-arms shock shafts basic things.
i use the 7954 sh diginal servo for my truggy by the way.

D8T
Several threads already pertaining to this topic.

http://www.rctech.net/forum/nitro-of...der-250-a.html
As for servos, its say to stick with Hitec/Futaba. I run the Futaba 9351 in both steering and throttle.. never had a single problem and my tires get slapped from side to side.
Engines, all of these are popular, I would recommend reading up on their specific threads... Werks B5, Ofna .21 JL(clockwerks), Alpha engines and I would look at the Nova Plus .21 4C.
I recently just switched from the Jammin x2 crt to the D8T. I was told to get a set of a-arms, front/rear hubs, cnc servo arm, set of turnbuckles and I always pick up extra front/rear shock shafts. I think it is a general consensus that the HB D8T's plastic does wear more quickly compared to Mugen/Losi but their parts are cheaper. I will be racing tonight and get back at you tomorrow letting you know what I thought of the truck.

what about pipes for the werks b5? The 2013 is out of stock on amain. is it worth it to wait it out instead of getting the 2057? Is there any other good pipes for that engine?

This is from my D8T build. I wanted to save money also.
steering servo http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXNRN6&P=ML same thing as the Hitec 5955, just a different sticker on top.
throttle servo. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...8&I=LXUZ80&P=K works pretty good, although I would like to have a little more torque for the breaks.
I have the Werks B5 and have no complaints.
Starter box is easy, don't overthink it.

Stick with Hitec 7955 or 7950 servos..... you should not have to worry about them as long as you set your EPA correctly

Team Orion 2013.. one route if ya can't find one in an online store.
Also, post a wanted ad in the Wanted to Buy thread saying you want a 2013 pipe.. or check the Wanted to Sell thread and see if anyone has one.. the 2013 is expensive, finding one used will serve the same purpose at a better price.. I got mine used and its great!
