Default blue thunder race fuel.

Got laid off this past week so my buget is really tight, (non exsistant really). So i thought i would save some money and get blue thunder 20% rather then the oddonnel 30%.

i cannot begin to tell you had bad this fuel is. My buggy would barely idle first of all, and after i got it warmed up and drop the hammer it would continualy flame out mid throttle (keep in mind all my motors and clutches are in great shape) and run like complete garbage. Almost like there was no pipe on it at all.

so thinking my motor or bearings had a leak, i tested the front bearing. Not the bearings. So i knew my motor was good cause i just raced it last weekend. So i figured it was the glo plug. Nope. fuel tank and fuel lines? nope. Changed piped 3 times! Nothing. So i Went and got another motor (my best one actually), same thing. Ran like complete garbage. then i thought 20%? I will remove a head shim. Improved SLIGHTLY, but my buggy was still looking like it was driving in sand. The fuel is the only common denominator in all this.

So i figured maybe i should shake the fuel up, this crappy fuel probably been sitting there for 50 years or something. Nope just ran like doo doo.

blue thunder= worst fuel EVER! worse then traxxas by far. And that says alot.

does anyone like blue thunder? did i just get a bad batch full of water or something?

I dont' wont to bad talk a product. But i have been beating my head against the wall all day and need to vent.

i will tell you this. If i have to put my wife on the corner, i will. If that is what it takes to get good fuel!!

yeah. Problem is byrons is like an hour and a half away from my house. The only other fuel they sell around here is traxxas, blue thunder, trinity and oddonnel. I am screwed

its on the ebmods website, they only sell quarts the raceing fuel is $92.01 for 20% which im pretty sure is a case of it. the only thing is that the race blead has 10% oil, and the rtr has 13% oil im pretty sure.

I have ran Blue Thunder in the past and never had any issue. By changing fuels, the oil content will be different. You need a tune, not a gallon of fuel.

You talk as if O'Donnell is expensive, just how much are you paying ?

43$ for oddonnel before tax.

As far as tune is concerned, my vspec has never and will never be hard to tune. A small hour hear or there maybe, but i backed the needles out on both motors and retuned completley.

just saying, it was more of a rant then anything.

it was $40 for a gallon of ,trinity monster fuel 25% nitro. i just get the ethier bryons fuel or the emods, which is around in the $30 a gallon.

i have run o donnell fuel before its not bad just a bit overpriced.

Someone is charging way to much for fuel.
$21 is a plenty for 20% and $25 is the going rate for 30%. The way I have it figured is this guy is making $20 a gallon. O'Donnell fuel can only be purchased through Great Planes and anything over a few cases is shipped free.

The way it works with distributors; the more you order the cheaper it is.

yeah it's like 28 bucks a gallon for byrons which is what i usually run. Honestly, i will just have to shut everything down until i start working again. Man this is a real drag. I am sitting here trying to watch tv. And i hate tv.

nothing to air brush, nothing to fix, no race to get ready for

just me and my naging wife
