Get a Jammin jpx.21 it has more than enough bottom, and a lot of top too. Match it to a 086 pipe and you're golden.

+1000 I love my Alpha Plus! $209 is hard to beat for an engine that will run down and pass just about anything else on the track if you can hold the trigger long enough ;-) It's SCARY fast for a $200 mill.

A nice .21 engine will be enough for both tracks. if you dont think so I have a brand new extech .24 full mod w/ big boy pipe for 175$:sneaky::D that have all the power you need.

jbright33 05-05-2010 09:00 AM

ebmods js .21 plenty enough power. or you can wait like a month and the .23 will b out.

Werks B5 rips for $200. Pair it with a budget pipe, TTR 2035.

smittyusmc 05-05-2010 09:22 AM

They 28 will be to much power on bottom and not enought on top a good .21 would be motor than capable. I would say the jpx.21 would be a great motor it is a lot like a picco evo2 and that thing is balls to the wall. Its got more power than what you will need. You should go to the big track and see what the other truggy guys are running.

Werks B5 and a 2013 pipe,$300 for the set and bobs your uncle!

Quad Racer 34 05-05-2010 09:28 AM

Werks B5 would be a good one to look at. it has more than enough of top end and low end power. for only 200 bucks I would really give it a shot. easiest engine to break in as well. check out the Werks B5 thread. get a 2013 pipe and you will be set. (any pipe will be good especially a jp3)

also how mutch fule have u ran through it

Shuming 05-05-2010 09:39 AM

I still think the OS 25 is to much.
I run a Vspec 21 in my truggy and have not problems with power. But since they are no more I would say.

O.S. 21VZ-B V-Spec Limited Edition Competition Off-Road Buggy Engine

Team Losi "Mike Truhe" Edition CRF .21 Competition Buggy Engine Combo (w/Ceramic Bearings)

Mugen Ninja JX21 B01A 5-Port Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine (Light Weight Head)

Ninja is my favorite.

That engine is a monster. It will def get the job done. Personally my all time fav engine so far is the OS Speed, expensive but worth every penny, next I would go with a Ninja B01A, not quite as refined as the speed but tons of power. If you are on a budget then the Alpha line of engines has proven to be a solid choice. But for a truggy, I highly reccomend contacting Mark at http://powerhousercperformance.com/ I recently broke in a powerhouse P5 for a buddy and I was skeptical at 1st but after driving it the bottom-mid is its strong point. That engine was a monster. Every pull of the trigger brought a smile to my face. He had it in a Jammin X2 and it pushed that truggy with ease. So my list would be as follows.

OS Speed
Powerhouse P5
Ninja BO1A
Alpha (I dont know the difference on the head color but prob an orange head)
