What engine for my MP9?
Hello!
I'm thinking of getting a new mill for my MP9. I am really into getting a nova, either a toro or a plus4. The nice thing with the nova is that the nova pipe is a 3000 pipe and will (according to my sources) be allowed next year also (which the 2000 pipes won't if i got it right). Now, my question is: would it be stupid to get a toro in a buggy? Hows the runtime on the toro vs the plus4 and what pipe and manifold would i use?
and yes, i will use it for racing only.

Engine for MP9
Hi Martin,
Both my Son and I have been using OS Speed in our MP9's since they were released and we find them excellent.
Out of the Toro Nero and Plus 4 I would suggest the Plus 4. It has great fuel economy and is easier to drive smoothly then the Toro Nero. The Toro Nero is a fine engine but too much power and is better for a Truggy IMO.
There is a good video clip on youtube where Drake talks about engine tuning and what engines he uses in his Buggy and Truggy.

Regarding pipes...3XXX pipes won't be forced in until 2012.
2XXX pipes will be allowed until then...applied rules by EFRA.

Well
Honestly my favorite engine is the p5xls, but most everyone recommends the plus-4 for mileage, and smoothness. The new toro team engine has imporoved port work to boost the bottom end, sound perfect for big tracks, well any track with the bigger bottom, and I ran a stock toro and got 10 minutes, not bad for that much power......I used a 7mm carb thingy....

I was getting 10 - 12 minutes on mine last year, I was a rookie driver so I was easy on the throttle but the motor rips and has plenty of power through the entire throttle range.

I am a big fan of the Team Orion Truhe Edition CRF with the 2013 pipe. It is an awesome motor, holds a tune really well, tons of power from bottom to top. I am working my first gallon through it and it is getting 10 minutes easy on a tank in my 8ight 2.0. It would be really effective in a truggy too. If I didn't get such a good deal on this Orion I would def go EB mods JS .21 though.
