Losing power at full throttle

I have an 8ight-T 2.0 RTR and when I give it full throttle it accelerates but after a second or so it just dies as if I let go of the throttle. Does this sound like a tuning issue (too lean or rich)? Or does it sound like a servo issue? I've searched for threads with the same issue but all I found was when it bogs at full throttle. It's not really bog, more of it just coming off the throttle even though I'm on the trigger. Any suggestions is appreciated. Thanks.

i say your main needle is to rich and, it could be that glow plug is going bad.

Sounds like it could be a lean bog on the HSN, or too rich of an HSN. Does it completely bog down like it's not getting fuel...or does it kind of rev up and down like a yoyo almost like it's hitting a rev limiter kind of thing?

It could be a host of different issues of course...and without hearing it or seeing it....it's tough to tell.

When in doubt, richen it. But I will almost bet my reputation that it's too lean on the HSN.

Does it smoke until it flames out or does the smoke go away befor it flames out?

+10000000000. You need fuel to make power.

It completely bogs down as if I'm taking my finger off the trigger

Hmm not sure. Doesn't flame out though. Once I lose power I just let go of the throttle and then it's fine and still runs.

Ok!

K-Train 04-30-2010 09:34 PM

Sounds like the same issue I had with my 2.5R Revo.

what did you do to fix it?

I dont know a whole lot about engine tuning, But if you're using the stock throttle servo from the rtr then I would not rule out the servo.
