For the past several years I have been racing/building 1/10th electric trucks. Recently several of my friends have started racing Nitro Truggies.. I may have to get one myself... The milllion $$ is, which one is the best 1/8th scale Nitro Truggy for racing? I'm sure that is somewhat of a loaded question, but I didn't know if one brand stood above/beyond everyone else?

Like said you can do well with any truck out there.. Alot depends on your driving style, and the track you race on, and your budget.. I picked HB cause my Budget was small.. But, I am very happy with it.. If money isn't super tight I would suggest a Mugen.. It was my only other choice.. But went with HB for 1/2 the price.. NOw 3 others at my track have the HB..

But, yes any of these should be competative. For the Kyosho you would want the ST-RR

Any one of those will serve you well. I like Losi but that doesn't mean you have to. It's a good idea to choose a car that someone else at the track has. They'll probably know the ins and outs of it. They all have little things that can be improved.

What about the Jammin' X2-CRT?

I had the same questions as the OP a few months ago and ended up with the Jammin' X2-CRT mainly because of the popularity at a local track and the durability. I'm not to the level to really need a top of the line truggy yet, so I wasn't worried about getting the newest flavor of the month.

Did I make a mistake?

I have also found several of the Mugen MBX-5T.. How much better is the new 6T over last years 5T?

No mistake! Jammin is a very good truck. I own the x2 and mbx6t and i do not have any negative things on either truggy! out of the to the only difference is that i think the x2 had more off power steering then the mbx6t does but it could be that i have not got the right set up yet for my driving!

The difference between the 5T and the 6T is the 5T makes you say oh my god this thing is awesome, the 6T flat out makes you feel like God! Mugen took an excellent platform and managed somehow to dig out more handling. I own 3 MBX5T prospecs which are damn near indestructable and handle very well. I drove an MBX6T and could not believe the difference. Both are awesome and depending on where you live generally are easy to get parts for.
The 5T can be found for $100 to $150 for a roller generally. I will upgrade to the 6T when the prices drop a bit on the used ones. There is only one other Truggy I would consider and that is the Kyosho ST-RR but even that does not compare IMO.

It sounds like the Mugen MBX-6T is the "best" truggy, just not the most affordable..

I would stick with what parts support you have in your area if that dosent matter then Mugen, Losi or AE IMO.

Each one is the best in the hands of the right driver. It looks like what we are all doing is kinda telling you to get what you like. Mugen is a great truck, so is 8T 2.0, so is the RC8TCE, so is XRAY. But one truck I just recently saw and really liked was the O'Donnell. It looks really good, dont know, and I expect that it runs well.

There are many options out there and we can have 10 pages in a few hours arguing which one is the best and still not have a direct answer. I would say do some research, watch some Youtube videos, neobuggy research ect...... Go to your local track and ask, you may get to see some truggies up close and personal...
