Do you mean the fuel tank lid thingy? (technical name)
I used a ziptie with fuel tubing like everyone else on the planet. I cut a hole in front for air flow / fuel tank lid access and one hole on the side for fuel bottle access . I also have one small hole to access the High speed needle. I tried to leave as much of a gap between the front and side holes so it wouldn't weaken the side window post. I have had issues with that area cracking in the past. You can see in the pics. I don't use a fuel gun so i have plenty of room to fuel it. My pit guy didn't complain at all last weekend and I seemed to have pretty quick pit times.

ziptie with fuel tubing for truggy
ziptie loop for buggy
as big front window hole as rules allow on truggy
on truggy hole on the roof to allow fuel gun use
buggy holes are meant to be used with fuel gun
holes to access HSN and LSN

Is there a How-To article about making your own tank pullers? I have tried a couple different ways, but they never end up like I want them to.

mine on my truggy i need 3 big pull ties. Feed one through the tank lid and zip it tight. put the next one down about halfway, cut the lead off. put on some fuel tubing, i have about 1.5" on mine, then put the last pull tie on to keep the fuel tube on, cut off the excess.

Use a big bore shock piston and some fuel tubing. Your pit guy will love ya! You don't want a loop because it can get caught on things and open your tank. Or worse rip the lid off, then you can't even get fueled back up to finish the race. I have seen it many of times with those Kyosho, Losi and Ofna pullers.
BTW thats not how I fix my fuel line, this pic was taken after the Nat's tech.
