Quick Tire Question
Is it true that by boiling my rims the tires will come off easier? I was just told this by my neighbor but want to ask before i destroy them. Thanks

Yes... or baking them in the oven... or putting them in a sealed container with acetone (they don't have to be in the liquid, just the fumes will do the trick if you leave them in there long enough.)

I just tried the acetone method the other day.The tires fell off when I was taking them out of the can. That method works awesome!

TIRE REMOVAL
My experience with boiling tires sucked and it stinks up the house. Use acetone

As I understand it, you don't actually have to submerge the tires in acetone. If you suspend them above some acetone in a sealed jar, the fumes alone will do the trick and you won't wreck the foams. I use the baking trick and it works, both for removing tires and stinking up the house.

The glue more or less dissentegrates with the acetone method. Word of caution: If you are removing losi pink, panther c, j concepts gold, or proline mc and you mean to re-use the tires, [U]do not[U] use acetone. It will shrink and harden the rubber on those compounds. Your foam will likely be unusable too but I suspect if the tires and foam were good you wouldn't be removing them, eh?
