a little help from you racers

so im looking at new kits for this season...i have the choice between a d8t for $300 flat or an 8t 2.0 trade for my old mugen mbx5t stuff....so basicly the same cost...my question is which is honestly better...does anybody run both maybe?...i know alot of people are gonna say it all depends on the driver but im hoping to get real answers to help me decide...because i cant buy both to see which is better for me...ive been all over the net reading and watching videos and im stumped...the only thing i have is the facts that the losi is pure sickness and i can always get d8t's for $300

Keep the mugen no need to start over.

I have had both the D8T and Losi and the Losi wins hands down for me.

Good luck.

The Hot Bodies looks cheap but the parts on it have a tendecy to wear faster than the Losi parts

HUH? I have both and between me and my son, both gets used alot. I replace more worn parts on my losi than my HB.

Any who, they both are good, is the 8T new?

I havent drivin an MBX5T but I am sure I am pretty safe to say it doesnt handle as well as a 2.0 8T.I would go with the Losi deal.

Wow... if that is true I'll avoid both. I had a Losi (1.0 buggy) before and parts wear was my biggest complaint.

However, in response to the original question... I personally would take the Losi if it is in good shape. (I'm assuming NOT new given the price.) In particular check for wear on the CVD's/outdrives, and play in the drivetrain. (Plastic parts wear on anything... they are disposeable... so a little slop in the arms is no big deal.)

there all good truggies. iv driven all of them and the d8t works way better for me. and i actually had more parts wear out and break on my losi's then my hot bodies.

Losi all the way!

I vote losi.......5T's are getting up there in age and performance compared to what's out there currently.

yea the 5t is pretty old but if your club racing its fine, as for wear on losi yea they do wear faster, but its not noticeble if you ask me.

losi

losi all the way man its the way to go in my eyes

streetsports 04-23-2010 11:23 AM

wow...thanks for all the real answers...honest answers are hard to get with questions like mine usually....the losi is new in box btw...my mugen has 3 nice bodies (1 bradley fine design) and a bunch of spares and hop-ups though...i think im gonna go losi...if im not digging it im sure i can resale it for about $300 and get the d8t later....the only thing thats still pulling me toward the d8t in any way is the fact that i can buy a complete kit just for backup parts for cheap...and the captured hinge pins are sexxy too...lol

thanks again guys
jessie

If the Losi is new in the Box its a no-brainer..Take the Losi hands down
