Petroleum Distillates on tires?
I just bought a bunch of cleaning spray that claims to be safe on plastics. Looking on the label it contains methanol, petroleum distillates, and hexane. The methanol would probably soften up the tires as well. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the effects of these on tires. I am going to try the stuff on a pair of holeshot xtr's I got and see what happens regardless. Any input on its affects on rubber or tires is appreciated thanks.

I would try it on an old pair of used tires before you ruin a new set, just my 2 cents. It does say safe on plastic but not rubber or see if they have a web site and e-mail them ect.

Used to use diesel(distilled petrolium?) on onroad slicks & it worked great didnt wear much faster & much better traction.
No knobs on onroad tires so who knows.
