Marcus Kal-Gard filter oil is really good, clean your filter really good with kal-gard foam filter cleaner and then spray with kal-gard foam filter oil and let it set up for a few mins before you put it back on. After a few min the Kal-gard filter oil gets really sticky.

PJ 1 aerosol . I clean it with dawn dish soap per my wife . She suggested if it's good enough to clean the birds getting oiled by the oil spill it should clean my filters . Guess what it even cleans better than simple green .

BEst I have found also..

I've used power Saver, and a few other R/C specific brands and None seem to compare.. PJ1 thickens better, but stays thin enough to get excellent coverage.

Other brands seem to be too thin and never thicken up, or are too thick to get good coverage, and clump really badly..

Kal-Gard is the best R/C specific brand out, but I have a 1/2 full can of PJ1 that I bought 2 years ago..

i hate to plug my own products unless it my thread but after this post above, i have to say the oil we use goes on extremely thin to get complete coverage and drys out to a very tacky, light oil.

after testing just about every MX oil out there we realized the best thing was to formulate our own oil to get what we wanted. After countless hours of testing we came up with what we beleive is the best for RC. MX oils simply do not allow optimum air flow for our micro engines. flow bench results prove this. Look at the pores in a MX filter and look at the pores on a RC filter, and tell me you cant grasp what im saying.

Lucky 7 is one fo the few I have not tried.. I meant no disrespect to any specific brand.. Just giving my point of view, and experience.. Most of the oils I have used a Brand specific, Like OFNA, Mugen, and The Power Saver (maybe the worst). I had some filters with power saver oil that never really thickened up, so I gave them away was afraid to run it..

Your discription of how Lucky 7 goes on is nearly identical to my experience with how the PJ1 works for me..

no worries i didn't take your post the wrong way, I've just been keeping tabs on the thread and it's one after the next trying to save money using MX oil, and i dont blame them because we spend sooo much damn money in this hobby its great to save money wherever you can BUT if you guys seen the results and testing data that I've seen you would think twice for sure. the PS filters are much more dense then most filters, so to compensate i think they use a lighter oil, but to be honest b4 i got into the filter biss i bought them once and didn't care for the density of the foams or the oil. The lack of options for quality aftermarket filters in this industry is what drove me to start manufacturing them.

anyone wanting to give Lucky 7 RC a try, use this discount code at checkout.
