Quick side question here guys, is there a "big bore" shock set for the XB8? I've tried looking all over the place, but haven't been able to find one yet.

As far as I know, NO... but... I'm thinking BOB (err... 808) shocks would fit right on. (I run modified ones on my "old spec" XT8...)

I'm curious how you got rid of the ice dispensers in front of the rear wheels on that thing...

NOTE: Of course you probably also need the upper stand-offs. (Shock mounts)

Can't pass on a chance to post some pics of my xray's!

First up is my xb8ec before it got the heart transplant.

Then there's the 808 which replaced the ec for nitro races.

And finally the XT8.

Have a look on the xray forums. Just do a search for xb8 big bore shocks. I think some guys went with the O'Donnell shocks. Personally I went with the 808 big bores. The front ones fit great, but the rears are shorter than the xb8 stockers. I got around it by using an 808 rear shock tower. It bolts straight up to the diff housing, but you need to drill 2 holes for the chassis brace. Not a big deal at all.

Cool, I'll look into it. With a kid on the way, I'm looking for the most economical way to slowly upgrade my XB8.....AWWW hell, if I wanted parts that were cheap, I'd be rockin' a Slosi....

So why not use the XB8 shock shafts? That is the primary determining factor on length.
