If ur asking what's the fastest engine u could put in the rc8 for fun then u could put in a stock os 28 and that would be just stupid fast. If ur looking for a good all around engine for that car get a ninja 21 it's hands down the easiest engine to tune and is fasst! I have tried alot of engines out n it's my favorite, however not to blowout Maximo's candle but in my experience picco engines can lead u to suicide when a beginner has one and doesn't have much tuning experience. I have not tried maximo's engines tho so maybe he knows how to workout those tuning issues. Look into the new js engines by Eb mods iv heard great things about them.

Then there is no question you need a SPEED. The os speed is by far the fastest smoothest best mileage out there. It is expensive but you get what you pay for. I have them in my buggy and truggy and they are all modded by powerhouse if you want the ultimate engine to unleash on the track. But be warned you better hang on its a beast!!

IN a Buggy the mod JPX 21 would likely spank a stock OS 28.... you could;d gear the OS 28 way up to get better top speed, but then you lose all the bottom end advantage...in a light vehicle like a Buggy the mod 21 is going to be nearly impossible to beat... I own a OS 28 and in the buggy its no match for the mod JPX ....

As for tuning, JPX tune easy, very easy...especially if you run Picco plugs.....I actually prefer tuning my Picco's over my OS, I find the carbs more precise and more accurate to needle changes... They have a very distinct sweet spot, whereas the OS is kind of obtuse and doesn't always respond to small needle changes...

Frank, seriously dude, a stock speed has absolutely nothing on my mod JPX....the Speed would get absolutely Clocked !!!!!! this guys is asking for the fastest ! not the smoothest best mileage...he wants SPEED !

Well It depends on you clutch set up/gearing. On my RC8 w/JPX I use 17t bell 1-.09 spring and 2-1.0's dynamite max life shoes and a 2035 pipe very smooth and on my RC8TCE I use the werks B5 stock bell werks 2013 pipe and 3-1.0 springs stock AE shoes and it is also very smooth. Remember speed is in your gearing. You cant go wrong with either, I know when they are done I will be getting the same motors they are dependable great fuel milage and you can buy two for the price of a OS speed and last alot longer and just as fast. As far as which one is faster I really don't know because you would have to test both engines in the same equipment or Dyno'ed which I have never done, My cars are only for the track so I set them up for track conditions. hope this helps.

Default maximo question?

the clocked engines that are for sale. are they new modded engines? or are they used refurbs?
again thanx everyone for putting your own input . im still kinda new to all this rc stuff. do you think the pro .28 would be worth getting clocked? how would that stand up against a stock jpx or jl ??
