hey guys

in the next couple of weeks i will be going to my local hobby store and purhasing a lrp s8bx rtr buggy.

from what i have researched it is a good buggy

i was just wondering what you think. would it be good for monthly races ?

and is it a good buggy in genral

Hi James,
A friend of mine has this car, I had an Ofna Hyper 7 and he got this as a first car vs my Hyper7. It was a little more expensive but TOTALLY worth the extra cash, even with the stock servos and motor it is an excellent mid level buggy. The engine is actually quite good and very easy to break in and tune, the stock servos although weak do very well for steering and exceptionally well for throttle/brake, the brakes on this buggy are insane and work like a charm.
It is a durable car and wont give you many problems. My friends kept popping the plastic shock cap on one of the shocks but that was it, just upgrade to metal caps or get the team kit big bores and your done.
I would definitely recommend this buggy!

I know this is posted in nitro, but are you looking at the nitro or electric? If the nitro is you choice it looks ok as a way to get into the hobby, would buy a pipe and steering servo. If the electric is your choice, stay away. that lrp system is absolute junk. I have 2 friends that bought rc8be's wit that system stock and It was garbage. lrp has made good 1/10 scale products, but I have not been impressed by any thing 1/8th I have seen. hope this helps. I would recommend to you to look on here at the forsale forums and find something rtr used that will be a lot better than this car.

no not very good at all.... youll be better of getting the Losi eight 2.0 RTR.

But next year I am going to Dave up and get the losi 8ight

You would be better off saving up now. rather then have a heap of headaches from the LRP buggy.

i have seen one and they are problem after problem. breakage after breakage, it couldnt keep going for 10 minutes without something braking( this is general track useage.

plus with losi you'll get heaps of threads that will help you.
you will even have "horizon hobby" behind you.

The S8BX is a very good car , only the brakes are a little pain in the a...

Now the brakes are different in the S8BXR evo version, so give it a try.This car is really fast and durable.

My son drove the car , but we had some problems with the first S8BX brakes because we drive on astro tracks here in Holland. Astro was a little to much voor these brake's. Next year we will drive the S8BXR EVo version whitch has the new brakes on it. This car is really strong ,durable and fast, perhaps not in your hands hahahah.
