Default Whats the best entry level 1/8th nitro buggy

My friend wants to get a 1/8th nitro buggy(I have an rc8) but he doesn't want to spend as much as one of the top ones cost. He probably won't ever race it except with friends at one of our tracks.

What's the best bang for the buck rtr buggy out there for a begginer that doesn't want to spend 600$ getting into it.

If he wants to spend lass than $600, I'd recommend buy something used. The Losi RTR is nice though.

Yup,

If he wants a RTR, get a Losi 8ight 2.0 RTR. Comes with a good radio, good starter box and is a great plateform to build off of.

If he wants a kit I would go with the Hot Bodies D8. It a lower budget vehicle but easily capable of winning in the right hands.

To be honest the losi 8 2.0 costs about 800$ after getting everything you need. 2 of my friends went with that, and I went with the rc8 just because it saved me about 150$.

He really just needs something reliable, it doesn't really need to be that great just decent.

How about one of the OFNA's. I don't know anybody with one, but for around 400$ he could have everything he needs, but if they are complete junk I'll steer him away form them.

He's been looking at the redcat buggy, but I imagine it's complete junk.

If you watch on here and flea bay you can get a used rc8 either rtr or peace at a time. I bought two rc8's that way and i had lest then 400 in each.

Default Used 808

I see used rc8's ans 808's all over. The mx-3fs radio is like 150, ofna 053 pipe 50, ace 1313 or equal steering servo and a 40 throttle servo would get him started along with a Novarossi .21 3 port 150. Don't skimp on the starter box. That losi junk is terrible. I've seen so many of those servos fail and starter boxes sound sick like they're dying and always run out of juice. The car is ok though and the radio isn't bad. Just saying a rtr rc8 with a nice starter box (ofna) and new 3 port nova would be way better and cost about the same, or a used 808. there are two 808's on e bay right now....

9 months on my junk buggy box now, not one problem. Switched to Li-Po a couple weeks ago (the NiMHs I had in it died) and it continues to be great. Still using the same belt it came with.

Any decent RTR that you can get support on, when ever needed you gonna spend at lease 600. He can always go with an OFNA buggy but support and parts are hit or miss
