Do you think OS will release a new engine just before the worlds, I think that's what they might do..

I had one of the first gen. 3 ports race spec motors. Made amazing power for what it was. Conrods were $13.99 at the time. Most affordable then and probably most affordable now.

Hey guys,

I ran the 7 port this past weekend at our local track with great results. I couldn't tell how long the motor could run for, just not enough of time to test that out. I can say that the 7 port has crazy top end and very smooth bottom, Im hoping to break in a 5 port and test that out for our series race this weekend. The only pipe I had to test with the engine was a 2060 pipe which was pretty good. The motor did idle like a vspec and had no problems the whole day of racing.

So is there anywhere to find this combo and how does it compare to the ninja or vspec/speed?

And if i cannot find the combo, what kind of pipe do you run with it.

I do realize that technically this is not a go engines thread, but help would be appreciated
The combo kit comes with the GO 2072 pipe, wich is the pipe i would recommend.
As you can see below, thats what I run.

You could also try a MG66 from MassiveMods Aus. Bottom end of the 5 port and top end of the 7 port, you get the best of both worlds.

Good to hear, and good luck this weekend at Dalton. Are you still running for Murnan? Hope the new engines work out for you.

I must say i don't even really care anymore.

And where can you find that combo deal?
I have 5 and 7 ports in stock, engine only or combos (2072 pipe).
3 port w/0801

Murnan does modify my motors but just haven't had a chance to send him a motor in a while. He does really good work. Breaking in the 5 port for this weekend and going to see the difference between the 5 and 7.

I keep saying people say this. Is the bottom end of the 5 port stronger than the 3?

the 3 port has really good torque from bottom to mid, on top it lacked a bit with a jp-4. my gen-? 5pt caster grenade loves the 2035 and has a smooth bottom, good mid and clears out nice on top. best combo i've ever run so far. the 3 port might have more pop but the bottom/mid of the 5pt is just right. you can run the 3 port with a top end pipe (086) and bigger clutchbell and it will be just fine anywhere.

I have not ran a 3 port race (red head) in a year but I think the 5 port has way more on the bottom and more everywhere. I alway's recomended the 3 port for someone that wanted a smooth engine.

The GX-3R has almost .28-like torque and peaks out quite fast with the 2072 pipe. Even in truggy, I'm recommending people run a decent mid-top pipe. i've got a small number of GX-3R combos with the FEMCA 0801 pipe. I ran this in my losi truggy for a while, and still use it as my backup. The best all-around package is the GX-5R w/ 2072 pipe... which is probably why I consistently sell out of these- next shipment is due mid-april.

guys... if you're looking for seals, bearings, cases, etc... We've got lots of parts in stock and ready to ship to dealers.

I ran the 5pt w/ os2050 pipe and once I got her tuned good she was a monster from bottom to top..Like I said i've been meaning to buy another just haven't done it yet. Ran it way back when I had the Losi 1.0 truggy

Yep, the GO and Alpha engines are very similar. Wouldn't go so far as to say they had the same parents, but lets just say parts of them came out of the same maternity suite
Value for money they are hard to beat. I am bias towards the GO, because I sell them, and have been happily using them for some time now. The new GX is their best engine by far, and a real competitive package. The Alpha came onto the scene just after the GO GX and my thinking has always been - why by the copy when you can have the original for the same price
