I would think it would be fine as that body has been used on the GS Racing CLX for some time now.

In terms of lap times, how much quicker is the "Bulldog" type body?

I believe Cavaleri was getting a couple tenths per lap. That's what I heard anyway.

Here's what went through my mind at this exact moment. What would ROAR do if everyone showed up to the nats with a cab forward buggy body? Would be kind of silly to have nothing but DQ's, but on the other hand I believe it would make a stronger point than not showing up at all.

I have a thought on the why the losi and jconcets body were not banned,
maybe its because they are used in mass production in kits that ae and losi sell.
it would not make these guys happy to have to recall big ticket items from distributers because the product doesn't meet a certain criteria that they specificed. like it being a championship edition or a race kit that could be used in said venue. just a thought thats all

and if ROAR wants to be jerks about the whole body thing why dont they
do hand outs or make the class spec or something.

Bodies are looking incredibly ugly, so I dont blame them. I cant even stand looking at the Losi truggy too much. Looks like a standard cab long bed.

Plus didnt the rules state that they should have been realistic looking to a point prior to them making this? Cant blame ROAR too much for finally saying enough is enough.

Banning something just because an organization does not like the looks is not a legitimate reason to ban something. I don't like the fact that the 8ight has won the nats three years in a row should it be banned (ROAR might if they don't like it.) Point being if they are going to ban a body let there be a legitimate reason, this "looking scale" is just not valid in todays racing. If we wanted scale looks we would be racing midnight pumpkin kits and clodbusters. If ROAR wants to control bodies why don't come up with certain dimensions that the body should fit in. It works for Formula 1 and look at all the different aero packages they come up with every year.

I thought I read in the roar rules, that buggy bodies must look different than truggy bodies. The Proline buggy body looks like a truck, when someone says
"cab forward" I think of a pickup truck or a cab-over big rig. I think roar made the right choice.

I personaly like the new "cabforward" buggy look, because I'm a fan of trucks and truggy racing. To bad proline was out of line when designing it.

Looks like the free market is telling ROAR to go have a Coke and a Smile imho. Yeah, some folks don't like the design and the easy solution is to simply not buy one and stfu. However, ROAR banning the cab forward buggy bodies because they don't "look realistic" is got to be the biggest line of BS I have heard in a long time. Nothing looks realistic about 1/8 cars so why are we all of a sudden concerned about the cars looking realistic after a body comes out that some people don't particularly care for aesthetically?

f-1 looking buggies jumping 10 feet in the air on motocross tracks going scale speed in excess of 300 mphs! Yet bodies all of a sudden don't look realistic. gimme a break...

HAHAHAHAHA ROAR is just pricks. This makes no sense, especially since they are only talking about one race a year where this rule will be enforced. Oh and Worlds every 4 years or so. HAHAHAHAHAHA...... Again back to my original argument, so all this set up is an approval process based off of opinions. Its about what the 6 or 7 people on the Executive Board say, with a giant middle finger they just said, phuck the 1000s who like this, we make the rules and racers just have to listen.. hahahahaha and this is the only racing body that dont take in opinions from the racers they LIE to support.
