These bodies have as Ive understood it a fairly considerable performance advantage that noone can resemble, so now Jconcept and Losi will be extremely dominant because they can make bodies that no other manufacturer can. How is that fair? How is that even frikkin justified?
I think if other manufacturers wanted to make a cab forward body they would, as far as a performance advantage, sure they give you a performance boost but so wont one less pit stop. With a great setup and great driving you can overcome just about anything. This just comes down to ROAR's old fashioned ideas of what RC should "look" like and they just don't seem to care about what anybody else thinks. Really now, it matters if the rear shock tower is covered? Does anybody really believe that matters? I don't. The biggest crock is the fact that the latest generation of bodies look more like a "truck" than the previous generation but ROAR says no?

to add to that.. truggy is a cross between buggy and monster truck... so its not a real vehicle... so why should the bodies even matter.... back then it was called unlimited ... so why a limit now....

just stirring the pot... don't beat me up

Well if the new cab-forward bodies are considered "unrealistic" then aren't the old bodies just as "unrealistic." If anything, the new bodies better resemble a full-scale race car or truck. How is the PL bulldog RC8 body any more or less "cab-forward" and "unrealistic" than the standard Losi 2.0??

The Bulldog Buggy Body is the only one not allowed.

Truck Class Bulldog is not affected and legal to use.

Just for clarification when it says Truck does that refer to Monster Truck or Truggy?

Here is the pinnacle of "speed only" thinking. Honestly, why bother with the cab at all? You should just make the whole body a wing with a nipple in the middle to "represent" a cab.

You may want to clarify that in the press release statement. From how it is written it certainly suggests that the truck bodies would be illegal as well.

ROAR is currently in the process of reviewing all off-road bodies based on their compliance with its body rules, primary of which is 6.1.17.1, which states, “Buggy and truck bodies used in ROAR-sanctioned events should resemble those used in full scale off-road and stadium racing. Sedans, out-of-scale truck, and van bodies are prohibited.”

For the purpose of the 2010 ROAR Fuel Off-Road Nationals, and due to the date and ROAR’s commitment to not make rules changes in such close proximity to a level 5 event, all bodies that have been previous used in ROAR competition will be allowed. In spite of their legality at this year’s Fuel Off-Road Nationals, all current bodies will be scrutinized for compliance to existing body rules with approval systems, specifications, dimensions and notifications to be established beginning in the 2011 ROAR rule book..

Thanks for correcting that as it was obviously written wrong before. It makes more sense now. I don't agree with it, but at least it makes some sense.
