Default Losi 2.0 "Lunsford Racing"

Hi guys, someone knows hom much weight is possible to spare using all the 2.0 titanium hopups from Lunsford? Turnbucles, kingpins, hinge pins, screws, threaded pins, shock mounts etc etc? If used with good quality tools (like Hudy for example) will screws last long even if the car will be assembled/disassebled many times for maintenance? Thx in advance, Andy (and sorry for my poor english )

Don't bother with the hingepins, seen them bend easier than the stockers. I have run the king pin, shock mounts and some screws. The screws are the bomb, they hold in the plastic so much better than the regular ones. I can use my makita impact driver and hammer the screws into the bulkheads and radio tray and don't even have worry about stripping the plastic. I only use them on the screws that removed all the time for maint.
Don't have the turnbuckles so I can't comment on them.

I dont think they are much lighter than stock, and the screw can last a bit longer with good tools, the key is to get the bit all the way in the hole before turning.

non molto peso affatto. non abbastanza per i soldi che pagherete. le parti della 'scuderia losi' sono grandi.

Thumbs up

Andy, I've used all the above. I stopped using the hinge pins(they do bend easier than stock) and the king pins(wear much easier than stock) the rest of the ti-parts are great.

I wrote Lunsford directly asking for infos. They have been kind and quick answering to my tech question. But they don't have that info . So i still hope someone can give me an idea based on his car weight "before and after" the Lunsford diet
Thx

titanium has about half the density of steel.
a cubic inch of titanium is .163 Lb
a cubic inch of steel is .290 Lb
Ti will be a bit MORE than half the weight of steel.
Weight the parts your replacing and multiply by .56
This will be the weight of the Ti parts.

Ti has adequate wear resistance to be used as fasteners.

Your welcome.

I used the screws etc on my RC8, I saved over 5 oz.

The screw are not just light due to the titanium, but Lunsford takes material off where ever they can. They round the socket screws and take some off the top of the FHS. This is why they are so much $$$$, no other titanium screws I have seen do this. They do fit better in the plastic and the a jewels to look at.
