Questions?? Differential question

Hey y'all I'm rebuilding the differential in a 4910 Maxx, its the stock plastic housed diff, what I'm wondering is do I need oil for it? It has grease in it from the factory so I'm guessing thats what I should use, I put wheel bearing grease in the rear diff when I open it up to check it out, it seemed fine but I found out the grease I have is only supposed to be used on 1/1 cars an it doesnt lubricate properly if its not at a high enough temperature. Should I reopen the diff an take that grease back out? And what should I use for the one I'm rebuilding grease or oil?
thanks for reading,

-Greg
