mafia - I don't dremel anything.

John - Not yet! I will have to get one before the Reedy Truck Race though.

Dave - I'm running Sirio's new side exhaust engine. It's really smooth, and MAN it's got a lot of power.

I've been racing gas truck since 2000 or so. We usually race at least once or twice a week, and I try to practice at least 30 or 40 minutes over the course of the week. When we first started racing I practiced as much as possible, but now it's not the quantity of practice I get, but just me going out there and putting in good laps to try and get faster.

Aaron, can you please give my your set up for an outdoor, dried out red clay track? its pretty hard packed, with a layer of dust on it. it gets watered but dries out again by the 3rd heat. moderately smooth, biggest jumps being doubles. its more technical than flat out. with only a few 90* turns. most are between 135*-180*

im running a drake with a .12cv-r and it will be the first time it sees this track so im looking for a good starting setup.

tia,
chris

I run that at every single track I go to, with the exception of tires. I've never been to a red clay track, but if it's hardpacked and dry, you might want to try King Pins or Studs.

I would go ahead and try Red King Pins, that will be your best bet.

ok, i still have like 3 pairs of holeshots, some fuzzies, and some losi ifmar pins (i think thats what they are) that i need to burn through first if they work well. i got quite a few sets of new tires in a package i bought off someone along with the drake. ill try those kingpins out once im in need of tires again. thanks for your help.

Aaron - Will you be at the RTR this year? Like to meet ya, and say what up since Skid told everyone around here you were the coolest.

I might be making the trek from OK this year..
