Aaron-- I have a drake .21 std edtion. I am 90% sure I blew a case bearing this weekend. I think I ready you put ceramic bearings in your motors. What size do these use and were do you get them?

Thanks!

(also do you or your dad have a trick for getting the old bearings out and the new ones in?)

What's up Aaron? I have a question for you about the AD2 setup that you guys were running at the Reedy Truck Race. I noticed you guys are running a softer setup on the AD2 with orange front springs up front and yellow springs in the rear. Why are you running such a soft setup? Are you guys running Jesse Robbers standard AD2 setup? If not what setup are you guys running? It was nice seeing you at the Reedy Truck Race. Thanks.

Aaron-- Are you surviving the fire yet? Remember to take all your R/C stuff if you have to leave!

hey aaron, was taking apart my diffs and noticed that there is a notch where the cross pins sit inside the diff cup. Does this affect the way the car drives/handles? Is team losi gonna make a running change on the diff cups or have they already done so and I have the old ones? thanks in advance

Guys, I wouldn't count on Aaron being able to get on here anytime soon. The wild fires that are ripping through SD County are going right through where I think Aaron lives. Part of it is about 10 miles north of me. We're all packed and ready to leave if anything shifts. But I think the area Aaron is in has been evacuated all day long. I wish I had his number to make sure they're OK.

Thanks bud. I think we're OK for now. I'll let you know if we need anything. I think Patrick evac'd last night.

Just got a text from him, they're still at home. The fire slowed in their direction.

I haven't heard. I actually was going to see if anyone on here has his cell number, please PM me with it. I'd like to give him a call to make sure everything is OK.

Hey guys, I really appreciate the concern. My family and house are okay, the fires got within a few miles but never really threatened my neighborhood. We had plenty of warning and got most of the house packed up (clothes, valuables, R/C stuff and trophies, etc.) but never had to leave.

Casper - I do run the TKO bearings in my engines. The bearings are 7x19x6 and 14x25.5x6.

Take the engine apart and put only the case in the oven, at 425 degs. for about 10 minutes. Take the case out of the oven and slam it down on a block of wood to knock the inner bearing out of the engine, and then use a dowel to push the front bearing out. Have your new bearings in the freezer in the meantime, and install them while the case is still hot.

jatoman - I'm really sorry, but I don't know anyone who has personal experience with those engines.

Robert - That setup is something that we've tried running at the bigger gas races this year, to make the truck easier to drive. There are a few more changes to the truck than simply what you saw with the shocks. The concept was intended for tracks like Silver State, where the track is really tough for gas truck, but I felt really comfortable driving that truck at Hot Rod, because the layout wasn't too technical at the Truck Race.

odoylrulz - By diff cup, you mean outdrive? Or the diff case?

I think you're talking about the outdrives; notches in the outdrives will catch onto the dogbone pin and stop the suspension from working correctly. This is a normal wear item and you should replace them every couple gallons, when the outdrives start to show wear.

The bearings are 7x19x6 and 14x25.5x6

I got the rear bearing out. I measured it to be 14X25.4 Did I get the wrong bearing? I am not sure I have seen a 25.5?

I will try the oven thing for the next one. I used a heat gut and got the case hot but we still had to hit out the old bearing.

Glad to hear you were not affected too much by the fires!

Aaron - Thanks. I'm glad to you hear you and your family weren't affected to bad by the fire. Do you think you could post the AD2 setup that you and the Losi guys have been running? Thanks.
