Aaron,

When u asked newbie if the engine will restart, is this a good indication that the motor is running hot? I have a Losi RTR Truggy and run my motor around 240 because it screams at this temp, my friend says this is way too hot because he likes to run his engine around 220. His engine won't restart after a long session but my will start right up even after running around 240's. There smoke out of the turns but at the back straight, the smoke seems to disappear. Do you think I'm running too lean? Your help is appreciated.

also it will not idle, the rpm's gradually deacrease(i have to give it gas while the EZ start is in to make it run and go) and the engine dies what should i do?

Also on my other question it will not restart.

it will only idle when i put the EZ start in and press the button and hold it after it dies and heats up. What do i do after oil smoke comes out of the pipes when it dies?

Hehe, the track I was at this weekend.. The owner had a baggy full of hornets that were at least 2" long if not bigger!! Biggest dang bees I've ever seen. Said they liked the dirt when he was redoing the track last week. He killed them with motor spray!

Bobby - I don't have a problem with frogs. I don't really have a problem with snakes either, I just had a scary encounter with a rattler when I was younger.

newbie - Try replacing your glow plug. If you have to keep the EZ-Start connected to keep the engine running, it's likely because the starter is keeping the glow plug hot and causing the engine to run. The oil in the pipe won't hurt anything.

r6ryder - 240 is fine. Today's engines can survive running in the higher 200's with proper lubrication. If your engine is producing smoke under acceleration (not always the best way to judge this, but it's a good indication) then your engine is getting proper lubrication and is not too lean. You probably won't see the smoke on the straightaway, but that's fine. I would try to keep your engine below the 280-300 range, but you should be safe until then.

The motor's ability to restart isn't necessarily a sign that the engine has been getting too hot, but I was asking "newbie" to try to narrow down possible problems, like a bad glow plug.

newbie, your bottom needle is too rich. The engine is not flaming out, its drowning out. Lean the bottom needle a quarter turn and try it again.

That's a definite possibility, unless the engine had been running fine previously and then suddenly developed this problem.

But then again, if the engine was new and is still breaking in, that would definitely do it.

Frank - Ah! I'll call you tomorrow.

Kevin - I don't know about hooked. It's not like that's the first time I've driven electric, or raced at Hot Rod, haha. But I did have a blast!

Cody - You got the right idea

Default help with o.s. tz 12

Help! I have an AD2 and figured I would go econo way on a motor until I learned how to drive a 10th scale. Im no pro but I havent found a 12 that I really am impressed with. My mind is made up on the TZ12 but I want to run the 10e rotary carb. Does anyone know of a company that manufactures a carb reducer that allows it to fit? After running buggy and truggy I must admit im hooked on the AD2! Jeff

newbie - The Low Speed Needle is the slotted screw on the end of the throttle body.

cpod - I know Lunsford and Hardcore Racing have made them, at least in the past. I'm not sure if they, or anyone else, is still making those adapters.

If you're still looking for an engine, check out the Trinity Platinum .12. Very smooth with lots of power, and great mileage!
