That sucks I wonder why? The TG is a rear exhaust. OS does not make a side exhaust engine anymore?????

I am not sure what to tell you for a good beginner engine anymore! Nova Rossi CX12 is a great engine but a little higher price.

Tower has CVR's but they are chargin 169! They used to be 109!

XXX-NT series can use a rear exhaust, so the TG will work fine.

Yes if you get the rear exhaust header. Side exhaust motors tend to be easier to drive though as they have a smoother bottom end. Good be beginners. Heck even drake uses side exhaust!

Casper - Haha, thanks. I've been running MC59's in both .12's and .21's.

stump - Thanks! That's always a big compliment from people that I try to help.

Factory Seal - Thanks! The problem with big races like that, is you'll have 50 people who rightfully expect to be in the top 15. Then you always have racers who felt like they came up short!

M2 Driver - Look into the Trinity Adam Drake Signature Series engine, not the Platinum one. They're really mild and easy to drive, get better fuel mileage than the O.S. motors did, and can be tuned to make good power when you are ready for it.

Side exhaust motors tend to have less bottom end, and more top. A-9347 is the part number for the Losi hard-anodized rear exhaust header, which comes in the AD2 kit.

Yes, I run that engine in my 8IGHT and 8IGHT-T. It's awesome...really smooth and easy to drive, but lots of pull off the bottom and through the midrange. Not necessarily tire-spinning snap, but it pulls hard up hills, when loaded into the face of a jump, etc. I LOVE it, perfect fit for the free-spinning drivetrain of the 8IGHT buggies and trucks

Talking

I just bought a Platinum "Draked" .21 for my new 8ight

My question is whether or not I will need to add another head shim if I am running 30% trinity fuel?

Also could you walk me through the WOT break in procedure for this engine or reccomend what I should do to break it in.

Thank you for your time.

Forgot to ask in my last post but what glow plugs are reccomended for this engine. Currently I am using rb6 or MC59 plugs in my Sirio Kanai Evo 2 and was wondering if these plugs will work ok for the Platinum engine.

Thanks again.

Default Motor's

Here you go...........

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No, they're not broken in. You're gonna think I'm crazy...haha:

Start the engine and let it come up to temp at the stock settings. Then richen the top 2 FULL turns and hold it full throttle for one tank. The engine will be blubbering, spewing fuel out of the pipe. Run 3-5 tanks through it like that (the engine will not be very warm at all by doing this, so no need to let it cool in between tanks).

Then tune it on the rich side and run it on the track for 3-4 tanks. Then you're good to go!

Default Aaron (piston and sleeve)

I took the head off my mach15RE
to clean it off and noticed my sleeve pulls out really easy! is this normal or are issues with my engine?
premature ware maybe?

LOWGEARED - The sleeve fitting loosely in the sleeve is not a result from wear, but manufacturing tolerances. If your engine runs well, I wouldn't worry about it.

birkett - Factory Seal posted the correct break-in. I run MC59's in my motors, the plug seems to work really well. I'm running the stock head clearance (not adding any shims) and 30% fuel.
