Aaron, What front buggy tire would give the most steering on a loamy track, when wet there is alot of traction and when dry it is slick, also what compound. thanks

bfox - It's the biggest off-road race of the year! Usually around 400 entries (regardless of what the flyer says..haha). It's held at Hot Rod Hobbies in Saugus, CA, and is about ten minutes away from Six Flags Theme Park.

You can check it out at www.hotrodhobbies.com

rgb24 - I would guess that silver 7202's would be the best.

Aaron,

Is it just me, or does the diff in the buggy last a bit longer than in the truck. I've noticed that my truck will go through rings faster than my buggy. Is this just me, or do you get this too?

Thanks!

Aaron thanks for the practice advise i took what you said and applied it to the way i practice. After a few slow laps and working on a few sections i had trouble with i was able to keep up with most of the 1/10th scale truck guys. Also i tried that drake set up and my truck felt dialed like a whole new truck. I still need alot of practice before the shootout and i need to find someone that will help me pit..hahah. Thanks again i honestly feel like a better driver now.

mafia - It's possible. If you're punched through uneven sections of the track with your truck, and the diff is unloading and spinning up, or you land off of jumps on power moreso than with your buggy, it will wear out faster. I've never noticed it though..

Jon - Glad to hear it helped! If you need an emergency pit guy at the Shootout come get me.

That setup really rocks..it's what I'll be running for sure!

Hi Aaron,

Do Losi make a rear sway bar kit for the XXX? Would you happen to know the part #?

I would get it off the Losi site but I think they are working on that section... sure did suck before!

mafia - Break it in? You sound like a gas racer!

Josh - I've been lucky enough to get to the point where I can go around most tracks fairly consistently without crashing; if I find one section of a track where I feel that I'm not fast enough, or if I do keep crashing, I want to make sure I find a safe and efficient way through it before racing starts!

You're always welcome..I'm here to answer whatever questions are thrown at me.

Scotty - A-4142 is the XXX rear sway bar kit.

Aaron,

Happy Birthday!...I think? I'm 18 in mid-September....can't wait!

Anyway, The charger is loud when the fans turn on, but at least I' know its working. There's a trickle mode that the charger goes into directly after the battery finishes charging. I had it set a .08 amps but should I turn it off? or is it good to have something flowing through the pack while its resting after a charge?

Thanks!

Mafia, trickle charging after a charge is only for older NiCD batteries, you don't want to trickle charge NiMH batteries.

Check the SMC battery forum here on RCTech for lots of good battery tips.
