Rich - What Jon said! There's nothing "elite" about doing well at a toy car race. My car was phenomenal and I drove well; being well prepared for the race paid off, as my dad and I put in a lot of hours to get ready for the Nitro Challenge. And a little good luck never hurts, either!

With that cleared up (haha), thanks! It was awesome to be able to run with those guys. I'm still on cloud nine.

Dale - I'm using the stuff that came with my kit, so I don't know what other brands are close. Losi's oils should be available soon.

tex - Thanks dude! I still can't believe it.

Best of luck, hope the car works well for you. Trust me when I say that it's easy to get in over your head at big races. Remember that the Losi buggy works well when you drive patiently, and you'll be fine.

Also, as I suppose this deserves its own post:

Big thanks to Peter Martin and TKO Competition Development for welcoming me to the team! I feel really honored to join TKO's impressive list of team drivers.

drrm - First of all, no Mr. Waldron! My dad even hates that!

I'm 20 years old. I don't want to be called "Mr." until I'm gray!

I'm just kidding. Being competitive, at any level, is much more about how you drive the car, than the car itself. Don't get me wrong, having good equipment can make a big difference, but if you can't put together qualifying rounds and long main events with minimal mistakes and clean, fast laps, no amount of engine modification is going to help you.

Case in point: My gas truck is awesome, great motor, etc. But I couldn't put the necessary runs together last weekend to make the A. Not the car's fault one bit, 100% driver error.

I think you'd be surprised at just how stock, or close to OEM spec, the engines of some of the top pros are. There are gains to be made with certain modifcations, sure, but you have access to engines now through commercial engine modification companies that I would bet are way more radical than some of what you'll find in a national A-main.

The engines that I use, along with the rest of the Trinity race team, are the Platinum Edition Drake-Tuned engines as they come out of the box. Store-available, race proven!

D_Ames - Too funny. We've gone over that whole "Mr." thing before on RCTech...I'm not even old enough to drink!

Cody - You too! Sorry we didn't get to talk more often. Hope to see you soon.

Zoey - Bump steer is the change of toe-angles throughout the movement of the suspension. It can happen when the tires are pointed straight, at full lock, or at any point in between. It's not necessarily a good or bad thing, just another tool to change how the car works.

Yea I was running around like crazy trying to get my cars ready and marshall and water all weekend. Maybe Silver State, Gas Champs, or Nitro Maxx. My mom is buying a toy trailer, she says it isn't worth it to buy it unless we use it. Hopefully I can convince her to go to one of the three, got to keep the grades up first though!
