Default Lipo

Does anyone here use Lipo reciever packs? If so do you need to run a voltage regulator, or can most recievers handle the extra voltage?

I'm not positive, but I think you need to run some sort of regulator to protect your receiver and servos.

Tim - Awesome, that's it!

SEADOO - Did you make sure to line up the notch in the pin so that the set screw can hold it in? And use loctite? Loctite's really important for joints like that.
Hi Aaron,

The pin that came out from the dog bone is on the other side of it. It does not have any set screw.

Hi, the pin that comes off is from the other side of the drive shaft. It does not have any set screw to hold it. I think the part is faulty from the factory.

Are you going to run the Proline Saturday series and/or the JBRL series this year?

SEADOO - Oh! Call Losi and ask for Bill or Jeremy, and explain what happened. They are the ones who will be able to help you.

Jon - Both! I've run the Saturday Series every year since its inception, and I'll definitely support anything JB puts on, especially if it's gas racing

This may sound like the dumbest ? ever in the history of this forum? I have a camera phone to take my pictures and post with! How can I blow them up and post them on here? Is there a special tool on this site for it?

how do the number of winds affect a motor? ive heard that a double wind motor has more initial torque. ive also heard that a single wind has more initial torque though.... which is right? and what is a good motor for under $50. preferably a 10-12 turn

A single will have more bottom. Mutistrands will take a little bottom away and stretch out the power band to make the motor a little smoother. They will also gain a touch on the top end.

is the team orion SV2 BB 10 turn single a good motor? will it last a long time and have torque in a tamiya dark impact?

I'm not Aaron (Thank God! ) but in a 4wd buggy, I always preferred to run a single (9 or 10 single usually) for the extra punch. You can use that extra punch with a well setup 4wd buggy. That's why you see most guys running 2wd running a double or triple. They don't have the traction to handle that much torque. However, if you're just getting into modified racing, you may want to stick with a double and maybe a higher turn (11 or 12) until you get used to the extra power. A 9X1 in a 4wd buggy can be a rocket.

I don't know about the Orion Sv2. In all honesty, if you're looking for a good off road motor that the brushes are going to last and you're not going to have to cut every other run, I'd go with a Checkpoint or the Trinity Cobalt2. I haven't run the Trinity, but the CP motor is good.

i was thinking checkpoint, but didnt want to spend that much for a system. i raced mod 2wd for a season and just recently got my tamiya dark impact. so a good 10 turn single motor would be great for the buggy? what final drive should i use? what do you use in your buggy? if you have one that is. is there any good 10 turn for under $50 that i wont have to rebuild all the time? i hate motor maintenance but cant afford brushless.
