If I can make it, I'll be there Friday morning EARLY. I'll let you know before if I'm going to make it or not. Seriously though, you think you have a spot on your floor for me? I'll bring my own pilow!

Hey Aaron, got some tire questions for ya.
We have a brand new out door track with a dirt/ clay mix. After 3 race days it is starting to get packed in nicely. We started with Red Step pins on the rear of our trucks and they worked well, but I believe it is too hard packed now and thinking a Reptile would be good. My biggest concern is tire wear. Seems that the last practice day a few guys went through their step pins completely in 3 tanks, centers were bald. What are the different characteristics of the Losi Compounds and which do you think would work best for our track. It doesnt quite blue groove and is kept pretty dry with occasional watering throught the day. Thanks.

I'm not Aaron, but step pins will wear out quick on a hard packed surface. In addition to the reptiles, try ifmar studs and ifmar pins, all in red compound. You could even experiment with the trinity bomb 1 foam too.
As for the compounds, you want to use red 90% the time. You really only use pink with either an indoor clay track or or an outdoor track that is like concrete/adobe that sit in the sun all the time. Silvers work good when the track is rooster tail loam; conditions like that, the red compound would flex too much and not give enough traction. I use silver step pins in the mains at our local track because the 1/8 scales tear it up so much.
