Casper - It all depends..I usually run XTR's, and I know they're better when the track is soft, or very abrasive, or it's hot outside. M2 can be better when it's cold though.

tcmerf - I've only run at ARC once and I think I used IFMAR Pins..whatever I used that date, I remember laughing about how dialed they were. T-Bones usually work best when the track is dry and pretty hard-packed. Taper Pins require a pretty much dust-free and packed surface to work...they're the best at Hot Rod when it's dry, but I don't think you'll be using them much at ARC.

HOW LONG TO IFMAR PINS LAST!

Sorry I should not yell but do you run a new set every qual or to they last longer out there. I have only run stk and 19T electric out there with ifmar pins so I do not know how long those tires I lasting. I need to start buy tires for the nitro challenge to make sure I have enough. They can be hard to find at times!

You can get 2-3 runs out of them pretty easily before they start to drop off in performance.

Stock foam, 45'd outer corners, glued to the rim.

No change in a half hour, but probably around the 25 minute mark for a 45 minute main.

Thanks Aaron. The last time i was there the track was holding a lot of moisture, the tires looked pretty caked coming off. Of course this was at night and it was pretty cold out.

Usually when a tire cakes, it's a good sign that it's doing its job. That's never a bad thing.

Sometimes, tires cake up and you lose traction, usually when the dirt is really muddy or slimy. Even other times still, the only way to get traction is to let your tires cake up and have "dirt on dirt" traction.

Dirt to dirt traction is sometimes the best kind. In these cases though something with a smaller pin like an ifmar pin is better then say a step pin as the step pin will just collect even more dirt making the tire very heavy. You know you went too small when the tires stops collecting mud and it will become skaty then.

Default AD2 Setup

I was wondering what "minor" adjustments do you do after setting up your truck w/ "the dirt" setup? I mainly race on a med. sized indoor hard packed track. The tires of choice are red tapers rear, tapers or 8-ribs front. I'm running silver 8-ribs up front because they seem to be more consistent throughout the day especially after the monster trucks. Anyways "the dirt" setup is dialed especially going around the 180's. What adjustments would increase my high speed steering (rear slides out) w/o sacrificing too much low speed steering. I've already tried going to long rear arm and moving the camber to 2-b (adj. made independently), and the truck does not rotate as well in the sharp corners. Those were too major of adjustments. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx..
