Aaron is this a good motor to run in my MF2 Reedy Spec-19 Quad-Mag motor. I got it really cheap and also what kind of speed control would be a good one to use i plan on racing mod truck with this. Also how does this motor compare to the Novak SS4300 brushless motor performance wise.
#1892
That motor will out-power the Novak 4300 but it won't have the output of the modified motors that most people in the mod class will be running. 19T motors are great for learning how to drive with more power after stock, and the Reedy Quad-Mag motor runs really well.
I think Casper has had experience with the Reedy motors? If not, he has at least run 19T..and should be able to pitch in some gearing advice.

Aaron-- Remeber I was talking to you about the tap handle idea I had. Someone had the same idea and made one. Check out this thread.

The front bulkheads are pretty cool too.

Yeah...nice!

The pistons were 60's or 57's that have been drilled out to a 56.

I have a used MF2 and ive never raced electric before what size is the stock pinion and spur gear so i will know what to start with.

The truck doesn't come with a pinion gear brand new, so it's hard to tell what you ended up with after buying it used.
The stock spur gear is an 86 tooth.

I have a 21 tooth pinion gear do you think that would work good to start out with

morrow - That's probably too tall. I'd start with a 18 or 19 and work from there.
pie8man - Probably one of the best things you can do is add a little bit of rear toe-in. Try giving your car a little more droop as well to calm things down.
Someone posted two good setups on the 777 thread for you.

Also you can read into the back of the manual for more information about setups and what effects adjustments make on the truck. They reccomend 19-21 tooth pinion gears.
We have just purchased a MF2. We have been racing a T4 with good results but the Losi truck is hard to beat, so you know the saying "if you cant beat'em join'em"
I like the way the truck went together especially the front end steering componets. Another would be something as simple as the alluminum shock eyelets. The only complaint I have, which is really minor is you have to do alot of trimming on the parts to remove burs. But if you care for how your vehicle goes together you dont mind doing it.
Keep Up The Good Work Aaron This thread has turned into a full time job for you
