Ok some more technical info for those new to the subject.
You have vinyl and vinyl, just like cars and cars
Monomere vinyl is cheaper as polymere.
Monomere shrinks a little over time, polymere does not.
Watch if you buy a precut decal and there are white spaces between the die cut decal and the surroundings, that is due to the monomere effect.

When you stick a monomere decal to a body it will shrink some little more making the glue appear at the edge getting full with dust/dirt.
You guys have a point there/
So good quality decals are minimal made from polymere vinyl and do not shrink and glue will not appear at the edges.

Now about what you guys WERE/ARE used it to have NON FULL BODY WRAPS.
This requires paint and paints have solvents to bond to the polycarbonate.
We did not know beter then painting was the only option till Ryan Pursley started to wrap bodies 8 years ago but still used paint at the inside.
Solvents weaken the bodies over time especially at the edges.
But painting was the only methode to give transparant body a color till then,
so if you apply vinyl to strengten the body and the again use solvent paints the result is zero for that point.
However if you use a FULL BODY WRAP that does not require any paint at the inside your body survives much longer we found out by experience and testing.
But our experience could differ to yours.

If there are still questions about wrapping please ask.

Paco

I use wraps by Lee at Rev-RC.com. He has a good selection, get's me stuff in a week and it lasts all season. It's $25 shipped for a buggy wrap. He is super responsive and will even do custom stuff (for a good price). I sent him some dimensions of a server power supply I converted to work as a charger power supply and he's making me a wrap for it. I like all my stuff looking like my stuff, it's easier to identify and deters theft since people I race with knows what my stuff looks like. If someone started walking off with it, others would know. Paint works the same, but I don't think I'd paint all the stuff I have wrapped like my radio.

To each his own. I've had great success with a wrap from Chad (Fastlane) and the wraps I have from Lee (rev-rc.com). I'll be using wraps as long as they are available. The look (to me) is just too good.

I paint my own so they aren't that great but there are painters that can paint every bit as good as those wraps, and better than some because you have no seams. There are some very talented painters out there.

Mel's shells is one who does logo's. I know Jim @ WED will do it as well.

I'll stay neutral on the matter until I receive my Upgrade wraps. But fact is I can't paint to save my life. I almost botched an all black paint job, yup you heard me.

I have that very diagnosis from my school psychologist, granted that was 18 years ago so it's safe to say the laziness has increased.
