stretched rod?? what do you mean? The same exact thing was happening to me this weekend. My air filter came off on a bad landing, but did not realize it til it kept dying after i started it. Took the body off and the air filter was off and the carb was full of dirt took it out, cleaned and flushed the inside with fuel, put it back together and would not stay running. Would idle though. Oh well.

unfortunatley i don't think it's the clutch

On a side note. Does anyone know for a fact that the jx crank is lighter then the vspec crank? Has anyone ever weighed them? seems like the vspec crank is lighter but i dont have a scale. Really i can't tell the difference. Also, i wish i know the case volumes for each engine. I am wondering if those are the same as well.

Default I think...

Either get a novarossi, werks, or an alpha...Or try opening up the top end needle a bit. It sounds like you have it too lean on the top....and too fat on the bottom.......

nah, pretty sure it's toast. I just ordered a vspec P/S set and a ninja crank. Already have new bearings and ninja rod.

So basically it will be a ninja with a vspec P/S. But i am curious about which case to use. My vspec or ninja. In the advertisment it says that it's the case from the .28 but does not have the black coating. If that is the case why didn't they use the vspec case without the black coating.

And since it's from the .28 could you get the .28 P/S and put it in there? I doubt it but was just curious.

The cases look identical in volume but i have no way to measure case volume.

I am having a hard time getting the ninja to keep a good tune. I am wondering if it would do better in a vspec case.

has anyone here put a vspec P/S in a ninja? (i need more bottom for the very tight track i run on)

would it be better the other way around and use my vspec case with ninja parts?

Anyone?

The ninja case uses the same general mold as the .28xz case, but is machined for the .21 sleeve. They aren't the same. From what I have heard the ninja case does have a larger case volume. It is also much stronger. I would use the ninja case if I were you, just because it's much stronger. Or try it with both cases and see which one you like better. I assume you have the tooling to change bearings around easily. If so, it shouldn't be a big deal to test both cases.

Depending on the damage an option would be to send in to rayaracing. Hes abe to help guys with these types of mishaps but again depending on damage. Make sure you break down the whole motor and inspect and clean.

I just weighed the V-spec crank and it is 45 grams and the ninja is 40 grams on a Pelouze scale
