I'm swapping over to lipo and wanted to add banana (or something else if more practicle) plugs to the side of the box to charge the battery without removal. I dont balance the receiver packs, would it be necessary to balance the starter box packs?

100% critical to balance.

Not critical for rx packs but they are for the starter? Is that because they're a 4 cell vice 2?

High draw vs low draw.

i still personally balance my 2cell's as the cells do walk from each other from time to time.

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll just rip the packs out to charge and balance (havent found a bulkhead to mount in the box to balance the pack).

Man just use velcro. Its been in my box for almost a year in and out at least 2-3x per month and it still works very well.

I absolutely love my hyperion 606i charger. I have 2 of them and they work very well. The newest one also has a lipo store mode which is great for storing lipos. These little chargers work very well and for $130 how can you go wrong.

Is there a way to trick the 606 to charge at 2c? I think I'll give something else a shot pretty soon.

Thumbs up Sure Makes a Difference

Wow!!! just replaced the 2 1800 mah 7.2 volt nicd pack in my losi box with 2 7.4v 2s 15c 2600 mah lipos i got for 20 a piece at hobby town. Had plenty of trouble with new engines with the old batteries, not with these bad boys!! well worth the price, of course I already had the charger with a balancer but even if I didnt this would be worth it......

Can you explain? I've been using a common sence 3300 15c 4 cell for a year now with no issues, why would using 2 - 2cell lipos be different as long as they are wires correctly?
