Wow. I don't know of Brad, but I wish him the best.

That driver's stand must have been pretty high up to cause all those injuries!!!

This weekend a bunch of us from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area went to Austin to support the Make a Wish Foundation Race for a boy named Noah. The event was a very successful and the money raised for Noah and his family far surpassed the goal. Itís amazing what can happen when we all pull together as a community.
All of us in the RC community have developed many friendships through the years doing what we enjoy. I can absolutely say the group of people you meet while RC car racing is unlike any group of people I have ever met. Brad has been in the hobby for a few years now and absolutely enjoys the comrades he has met through the years.
After the Make a Wish Race for Noah had been completed (around 2AM Sunday morning), Brad was attempting to recover the Team Terribles Team Banner from the driverís stand and fell. When he fell from the driverís stand he hit his head on the pit lane wall. When this first happened, a great number of us were packing up our RC gear and either planning to journey home or return to our hotels for some much needed rest. The paramedics were dispatched and arrived on site pretty quickly although in a case like this it can never be too quick.
Iíd like to give personal thanks to two individuals who tended to Brad in this time of need. Nick Lefebvre and Mike Clark. Without there assistance, Brad could have been hurt much worse.
Bradís injuries are 3 broken ribs, 6 fractured vertebrae, 2 facial fractures, and a broken nose. At this time, the hospital expects Brad to recover without any needed surgeries although there are some uncertainties.
Brad will eventually recover and will be on RC Tech and it would be great for him to know how valued he is to the community which he enjoys so dearly.
Brad Hope you get well soon, are prayers are with you and we wish aspeedy Recovery to you . I dont personaly know you but can tell your a stand up kinda Guy my hats off to you get well soon My Friend. Dave aka.1 Bad Jato

I think Ron Jr was going to visit today. He said Brad got a shower yesterday with assistance so he smells better now. Last I heard it may be a few more days before he can get out. He tried walking and had some dizziness.

Default Update

Ron Fleck Jr went to see Brad today and this was posted on rcfiles.

"Brad gets up pretty well now, still in pain. Expects to get out on Friday." This is great news! He couldn't get up without severe dizziness yesterday!

Default Update on Brad's Condition

Update on Brad:

Although he was dropped on his head from a good distance above the ground, he seemed real upbeat. Visited him yesterday. He needed to get up when we first got there to use the restroom. during this time, he was also due for for pain medication. He was able to do it, but was slow.

We visited him for about 4 hours. He seemed spirited, almost as much so as he normally is. Of course I had to joke with him about potential nicknames we all were thinking of. Up until this point, he had not really been eating solid foods. We treated him to some fine authentic mexican food (take out of course) since that was what he was craving He woofed it down pretty well. At the end of the visit, he had been given his pain meds about 30 mins before he was needing to use the restroom again (probably to release the gatorade he had with his meal). He got up pretty easily (under medication). So it appears time will be his best friend at this point. Also, as of now, there doesn't appear to be any reason he cannot go home on Friday. Believe me, although the night time nurse is cute (or so he says), he is ready to get out

He wanted to thank everybody for being there for him in this time of need.

Cheers!
