welcome to the D8 army!

any .21 engine will work in the car. the Alpha Plus Z852 (i think. its the orange head one) is a great motor to look into.

as for the servos, and standard size servo will fit. i run two Hitec 7940's in mine and i love them. very fast with plenty of torque.

also, you can check out the D8 thread here: New Hot Bodies Buggy!!???????

lots of good help, and information there

I jsut got this car too. i was in the same boat. ive decided though. contact maximo he can sell you a modded ofna jl .21 for $250. All the people that run them say its a great engine. As far as servos get something thats strong and is fast. look at the hitec line up. They have a great warrenty and are great servos.

I vote for Hitec servos too. I used them all last season in my D8 without an issue. I am going to be upgrading mine to the 7940's this year also. As for motor, track size may come into play here. If you have a smaller track, a 3 port motor from Novarossi will do the trick and they are pretty cheap. If you have a larger track, may look at getting a 4 or 5 port.

Building my son a D8 right now, will have the Novarossi N21R-BF in it with Hitec servos so he can run in the sportsman class.

Good luck....
