I was looking for a new servo in amainhobbies and i saw some servos for my steering on my mp9..I was trying to choose between hitec 7955,ace 1315 or 1313 jr 9100t and the Airtronics 94780M.
I then went to a different site and i was checking the servos and i caem i across this:

i say stay away from it. cheap servos like that will not last long. its better to buy good once. i tried doing what your thinking of. buying something cheap that is equal in the torque and all that but after purchasing it, it only lasted 2-3 months in a buggy but i had one in the truggy and it last ONE TANK. if you buy a 7955 you will never have to buy another servo for a few years. i have been running mine for over a year in both buggy and truggy and i havent had one problem besides it breaking a servo saver in my buggy. i know people that have had them for alot longer than i have and they are still working great.

i would stay away from ,a cheap servo like that too, if your on a budget and want a good servo with alum gears .and titanuim gears go ,with a orion vortex servo,i own one zero problems with it centers great too.
the orion vortex servo is around ,$90 to $100 and have pretty good specs too.
and they also have a coreless motor also.

I agree, when it comes to electronics go with products that have proved them self good. In electronics I always recommend to spend the money up front and get a good servo, other then buying a cheaper servo and replacing it over and over. In the long run buying a more expensive servo over a cheaper servo with be about the same or cheaper cost. Plus it won't ruin your rc day because a servo broke and you have to now fix it.
I would recommend a Hitec 7955TG servo. For the money the performance and quality are one of the best servo's out there. It always will take 7.4v without a problem. Hitec's newer servos the 7950 and 7940 are also very good servo's. They are more money then the 7955TG, but do offer slightly better performance and quality.
I have also used JR 9100's and 8711's. They worked well also, but did develop some slop in the gears and top case. Horizon did repair them free of charge though. So I would recommend Hitec over JR for now in my opinion.

yea maybe im crazy but i cant understand paying $120 to $150 for a servo.
some people on this forum had really ,good luck with the ace servos and i know a racer that ran a ace servo, for a full season with no problems.
my limit is $110 for a servo.

People pay a premium for servos because unlike their $500 engine which will last 10-15 gallons, hundreds of dollars in tires that will last 1 30-45minute main event and a few qualifers, the Hitec servos last for years and years.

oh yea i forgot about that servo ,i do have one question does it hold its center for a long time? im asking that cause i had terrible, luck with the lower end hitecs and the lower end . hitec diginal servos, with the centering. like the $60 hitec diginal servo it would be fine, for a while and then lose its centering bad.

Looks like an MKS servo to me. Full metal jacket - wait, i mean "housing"
Heard good things about MKS but i never owned one. If you're looking for good value for the money you should consider SAVÖX who are the manufacturer of Team Orion's servos - but their own brand servos are a bit cheaper than the Orion branded ones. The 1256TG rocks!

I like the orion vds 1007 servo fast and smooth but the warranty is not like jr or hitec but I feel its a great servo.Wish they had a better warranty them and maybe people would buy them more for the piece of mind.
